Narrabri West Lake
Narrabri, NSW, 2390, Australia
Narrabri West Lake was transformed by volunteers from swamp land into a recreational playground for swimmers, canoeists, picnickers and windsurfers. For the energetic at heart take the 3km walking/cycle track which loops the Lake. The Pirate Park located on the Walowa Street side of the Lake is ideal for letting kids run off steam after a long car trip. There are also picnic tables and BBQ facilities nearby.
For bird watchers, the islands, located at the southern end of the Lake, are a haven for local and migrating birds. Black swans and cygnets can often be seen feeding amongst the reeds.
- Exiting the carpark behind the Visitor Information Centre, turn right and follow the highway over the Narrabri Creek Bridge.
- At the first roundabout take the third exit into Mooloobar Street. You will find the Lake on your right.
