Frida Kahlo & Diego Rivera – The golden age of Mexican painting.
Both Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera have iconic status. Diego is famous for the Mexican mural movement during the 1920s, producing some of the greatest public art with a huge amount of panoramic images adorning the walls of public buildings. Arguably Mexico’s most original painter, Frida made herself the principal theme of her own art. Her paintings reflect her experiences, dreams, hopes and fears, and has catapulted her into what is today a superstar status. Frida and Diego wed in 1929. We will hear about their volatile marriage and the turbulent times they lived through, exploring the art and
lives of two of the most famous artists of the twentieth century.
