Come along to a “Meet the Producer” session with Narrabri local Steve Rees\, the co-producer of the movie. \n\n\nIntermittently filmed on the same Narrabri farm over a period of 18 months\, Giants plays out amongst the changing landscape of the worst drought in Australia’s history.\n\n\nSteve will take us through the process of creating and producing this 15 minute short film which was awarded Best Australian Short Film in 2022. \n\n\nThe bar will be open and light refreshments served. That is the question posed by renowned British sculptor David Worthington\, who during the course of his career has worked with a plethora of developers\, architects\, engineers\, civic bodies\, builders and contractors.\nDavid will be addressing the first ArtsNational arts talk with his talk ‘Sculpture and Architecture’\, kicking off a new season at The Crossing Theatre on March 4\, 2024.Graduating from Oxford University in 1984 with a degree in Philosophy and Theology\, and later studying fine art in London\, Barcelona and New York\, David is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Sculptors.\n\n\nVisitors $30 online or $35 at the door\nHigh School students under 18 – $10\nPrimary age students – no charge\nLectures take place in Cinema 1\, The Crossing Theatre. Arrival and greet from 6.30pm ready for a 7pm start. Lecture time is approximately 1 hour. DESCRIPTION:Whitehaven Coal is partnering with Narrabri Shire Council to deliver the first ever Cyril Knox Art Prize exhibition at The Crossing Theatre in Narrabri beginning Saturday 18 November\, with the theme for this year’s prize to be the NAIDOC Week theme “For our Elders”. \nThe Cyril Knox Art Prize is named in honour of Cyril Knox\, a well-known Narrabri local and exceptionally talented Aboriginal artist. The Prize will celebrate his artistic talents and endeavours\, while also encouraging emerging Aboriginal artists to follow in his footsteps. The top 10 finalists in each category will have their artworks displayed for the week\, with the community invited to come along and experience the artists’ unique talents for themselves.
