SUMMARY:Mosaic Workshop
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is designed for everyone to make a lovely a piece mosaic work for the inside your home. Modern mosaic work now uses many different tesserae from glass\, bottle caps\, beads\, to different types of ceramic tiles to broken crockery. \nIt helps if you already have an idea when you arrive that way it can be transferred onto the substrate. \nThere will tiles and other tesserae available however it is always good to bring in some crockery of your choice as this makes your mosaic individual but it also allows you to have your own colour palette\, it is suggested that you choose pieces of the same thickness. \nPlease be aware the glue requires a minimum of 10 hours to dry so grouting cannot be done on the day of the Saturday workshop. \nI will show students the grouting process so that they can either  take their pieces home to grout or leave mosaic work to be grouted and pick  up the following Saturday. \nMorning Tea will be provided \nSee booking page for details on appropriate clothing and what students need to bring \nLocation: Namoi Women’s Shed\, 2 Dewhurst Street\, Narrabri \nDate: Sun\, 2 March 2025 \nTime: 10am to 3pm \nPrice: $120 \nBOOK HERE

SUMMARY:Matisse: Simple Beauty - Paul Chapman
DESCRIPTION:Join Paul Chapman in Cinema 1\, The Crossing Theatre Narrabri\, for an informative evening on Matisse: Simple Beauty. \nMatisse is regarded\, along with Pablo Picasso\, as one of the artists who best helped to define the revolutionary developments in the visual arts throughout the opening decades of the twentieth century. His intense use of colour in his paintings between 1900 and 1905 brought him notoriety. In later age he had a second flourish as an avant-garde artist and developed his cut-out style\, using collage techniques with coloured paper. A critically acclaimed artist of the 20th century and an inspiration to countless generations of painters that followed. \nPaul Chapman is a writer\, art historian and a National Gallery trained guide with many years of experience working in education. Paul has a long-standing commitment in conjunction with the National Gallery as a tour guide at the Longford Castle art collection\, and he is also a visiting tutor at Marlborough College and a tutor at MCSS. \nTickets:\n$35 on night\n$30 Online booking before the event. \nComplimentary refreshments served after the talk. \nFor more information please click here.
